    Southwestern Pest Services Termite Control

Depending on where the Termites are located in your property and what species they are, Southwestern Pest Services has several types of treatments we are able to perform.

    Inspection

When Termites invade your property the first course of action involves a thorough inspection of the entire structure.  The inspection covers the site where the active termites are seen, the exterior perimeter, the interior perimeter under the structure if the property is built using pier and beam construction, all pipe penetrations of the structure in the bathrooms, kitchen, water heater, bars or other critical areas.  Following the inspection and determination where the termites are, our Certified Applicators will discuss our inspection results and make recommendation of what type of treatment should be used to control the infestation.  We will prepare an agreement and schedule a convenient time to perform the work.

    Liquid Barrier Treatment Control

This treatment involves digging a trench along the exterior foundation of your property and injecting a liquid termiticide into the trench and backfill.  If the property is built on pier and beam foundation the interior beam and piers also will have a liquid barrier injected around them.  On slab foundations the area under the bathtubs usually has an open space called a bathtrap.  During treatments, this area is exposed and liquid termiticides are placed into the bathtraps.  Sometimes portions of the slab will have to be drilled through and termiticide injected under the slab.  These drill holes are then sealed following treatment.  Depending on where the termites are located, some areas of the property may require the termiticide to be injected using a foam application.  These treatments can be either a partial or a spot treatment.

    Termite Baiting Control

Some property owners may select using baiting systems to treat the infestation.  This treatment may include the placement of monitoring bait systems along the exterior perimeter of the structure.  This technique may include one or several locations as prescribed by the product label and instructions.  This type of treatment requires regular monitoring throughout the period of time these systems are in use.  There are several types of these systems available and our Certified Applicators can discuss each with you.  These baiting systems treatments can also include a liquid barrier treatment.

    Borate Wood Treatment Control

Sometimes wooden sill plates, floor joists, beams, wall studs, stair carriages or other wood framing is exposed during treatments.  A borate solution can be applied to these wooden pieces to protect them from termite activity.  The borate solution is sprayed or painted on the exposed wood and seeps into the wood to provide a long lasting barrier to reinfestations.  These compounds are generally used in combination with liquid barrier treatments in the critical areas of the structure.  Borate solutions can also be used as a stand alone treatment particularly during the new or add-on phase of construction or during remodeling.

All termite control carries a warranty which we will explain before beginning any treatment.

    New Construction

Southwestern Pest Services can also provide pre-construction termite treatments for new or add-on construction.  We can apply a liquid barrier treatment on the ground under the slab before pouring or a borate solution to the wooden frame once the dried in stage has been reached.  Please contact our company during the design phase of your new house or addition for more information.
